How to Draw

This website is going to give you some tips on how to make amazing drawings!

Some suggestions before you start:

• Become familiar with the Elements of Art. It will help you analyze other people's art and communicate to others what you have drawn.

• Look at the Principles of Design. Using one of these principles will always make your art interesting!

• Begin thinking of what you want to convey in your art and how you might show it.

OK, now we get started:

• Many artists begin by creating thumbnails. They are quick, small sketches that gives you ideas about what you want the final product to look like.

• Always use references. Look at other people's art and photographs. You may use parts of other artists' work in your own.

• Make as many drafts as you want. It's okay to make mistakes!
• Take your time when completing your final draft. Consider what colors to use (consider adding value even if it is black and white only).

You did it! Your created art! Don't be discouraged if your drawing comes out "bad". Every step is a learning experience.

You don't need to make beautiful art. Art is not supposed to be stressful. So relax and have fun with it. :)
